My Learning Fall and Rising 

Today is 4 months since we met each other on August 12. I feel like time has pasted by really quick because we’re at the end of the semester already and we have finals next week. This class has helped me a lot since I started. When I first walked in the class I thought it was going to be the same as any other English class where we just read and write and take notes but it wasn’t. You gave us the option of doing what a regular English class does or we could use the tablets to do our work and use open source learning. I chose to do what a regular class does but I got out voted by most of the class. I walked out the class just wondering because I was curious in how we were going to do our class work.

In this class we do journal everyday and I’ve been writing more ever since we started with them. I could see improvement in my reading and writing skills. I also have been improving in my blogs because I’ve been typing more on my blogs.I also posted some poetry videos that I had to memorize like Richard Cory. I struggled to memorize it but I got it within a couple days. I’ve gotten great experiences from this class including the interview. I learned a lot from it because I saw what I did wrong and other people also told me what I did wrong on the comments of my post “How did I do?”.

We’ve read a couple of essays and I struggled with them because I don’t like reading so it was hard to focus on it. I also had trouble with the blog and journals but after doing them everyday it started to get easier.I also struggled in catching up on my journals so I started to reread the prompts until I got them. On my blog I would struggle sometimes so I’d go to the Santa Maria Public Library to try to finish my work after school.

I’ve been managing my time better so I’ve been getting more work done. I haven’t been procrastinating like I usually do because I want to get my work done. When I wrote my favorite journal I didn’t even have to think because I felt as if my hand was moving by itself because I already knew what I was going to write.When I typed my favorite blog I was just typing till class ended because I got really into it. Writing journals everyday and typing blogs everyday has made me a better writer because now I think more when I write.

I feel myself be a better writer than when I first walked in this class in August. This class has helped me out so much in other classes. This class has made me improve on my reading skills. This class has also helped me manage how I do my work and how to manage my time to get more work done. I’ve been procrastinating less than when I first came in this class.
